My name is Savanah Matney. I am a former sports broadcaster who worked in athletics throughout my entire undergraduate career at Marshall University. I then went on to obtain a Master's in Sport Management from the University of Southern Mississippi. Though I worked in many different areas of college athletics, I have always had a passion for mental health in athletes.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at The Ohio State University. I am a case manager for a foster care agency, where I ensure the well-being of the foster children in our care, as well as that of their foster parents. My long-term goal is to combine my passion for sports with my passion for mental health.
My goal with Sports Savy is to open up conversations surrounding mental health with athletes and professionals as well as bring more awareness to mental health in the sports realm.
